It was around five years since the universe had expanded for human kind, three massive spaceships had entered our solar system and changed our tiny lives forever. They hung in the sky, half in and half out of our atmosphere, looking somewhat like ships sailing on an ocean. Nothing happened for almost a month, the ships just hung there, we went from being terrified to wary to confused and then to indifference. It’s amazing how easily people can accept three unidentified, possibly hostile, definitely more technologically advanced ships in the sky.
Then one day every head of state started making public statements, pretty much the same sta
I looked up at the warehouse with anticipation and what I hoped was a warrior's appraising eye. The windows had been smashed, a torn curtain flapped in the wind like a flag. I slowly pulled my sword out of it's sheath expecting someone to jump me, someone, something. What I didn't expect was the nothing that continued to happen.
"Ok," I muttered "If you won't come out to play then I will bring the game to you." I hoped that I sounded more confident than I felt. I tried to bolster my courage by ensuring that I was ready for battle. My Helm Of Darkvision was firmly on, my Armour +5 was firmly strapped to me, covering my shoulders, chest and le
Jeanette sighed and looked around at the house. What had possessed her to buy this house? It wasn't a fixer upper it was a handyman's nightmare, windows smashed and boxes and rubble everywhere. She put her bags down and wondered what to do and where to start. Kicking rubbish as she walked Jeanette opened the doors, groaning as they fell off and decided that her first task was to put all the doors back on.
Returning from the car with her toolbox, Jeanette set about the task of securing her new "dream home" and making it hers. Starting with the doors and then placing some of the rubbish over the windows to keep out the cold, she worked her w
"The boys are back in town, boys are back in town, boys are back, the boys are back . . . " The radio blared out the tune, oblivious to the shocked and terrified stares that it was recieving. Usually I would have been reduced to helpless tears by the mere idea of ten adults stood around, mouths open and looking like a flock of sheep, it was highly amusing in my mind. In fact two years ago it had taken me ten minutes to get over the sight that one song could bring out of a group of usually sensible people, I had certainly laughed at the sight then, at least until the first murder report came out scarcely a day later. A strange outbreak of murd
Mary closed her eyes and sighed contentedly. Holidays were awesome. Especially holidays with small villages, good food and excellent pubs. She wasn't actually in a small village at the moment, she was in a restaurant in Cologne, Germany, after eating the most amazing meal she'd ever tasted. Or that's how it felt. She may also have had a little more beer than normal but that was fine, her hotel was five minutes away and she wasn't drunk. Definitely not. Drunk, that is.
She left the restaurant, making sure to tip the waiter well, and headed in the direction of her hotel. It was a beautiful evening, the stars were out, the moon was full and han

So the new story is going fairly well. I'm trying to write this one in more detail than I usually write in, which is a little more difficult than I'd have thought. It's been a while since I've written a proper story, the last two are rattling around on the net somewhere. I keep having to go over the part I've written and say to myself, ok we need more information here. I guess I should have just skeleton'd the first part and then gone over it a few times, adding the meat and muscle of the story. Well that's what happens with you only ever write really short stories for years.
There's a reason why I write my short stories the way I do. It's s
I'm going to try and write something this weekend. I've got an idea for a story story that isn't about vampires, for a change!
Although I'm sure Der Deutscher Sechs will make a reappearance at some point.
